The first Friday of December, the District of New Hazelton hosts Winterfest in Allen Park. Council serves hot dogs, hamburgers and hot chocolate to the many residents and guests who attend the evening event. Please see our photo gallery for pictures of Winterfest. Santa makes a visit. You can get your picture taken with a non-perishable donation to the food bank. There is a huge bonfire, marshmallows for roasting and an incredible fireworks display for all to enjoy.
On July 1st each year, join the Mayor, Council, and Staff of the District of New Hazelton in celebrating Canada Day. The morning begins with Council serving bacon, sausages, and pancakes to almost 500+ people! The festivities continue into the afternoon with children and families enjoying exciting games and a couple large inflatable bouncy tents! Mayor Lowry describes the event as a great time for all and states "the real key to our success is the high quality bacon which brings folks from all over the Hazeltons to this wonderful event."
