Hazelton has a seemingly endless number of recreational activities and New Hazelton is no exception. The following table outlines some of the most popular activities of our community.

Hazelton is lush and full of life during the summer months. There are adventures to be had in the lakes on the rivers and in town. |

| Allan Park | Allan park has a new playground and a beautiful covered picnic area. It is here where our Canada Day and Winter Fest celebrations are held. It is a great place for a barbecue or picnic with family and friends. Or a game of catch to let off steam. |

| Canada Day | Canada Day is our biggest celebration of the year. All of the Hazeltons gather together for a pancake breakfast, kids games, a parade, music and a soapbox derby. There is fun to be had by everyone. |

| Pioneer Day | Pioneer Day is hosted in the Village of Hazelton each August to celebrate our towns' heritage. There is a parade, wagon rides, vendors and kids' activities. | |||||||
| Ross Lake | Ross Lake is our closest provincial park. There is a boat launch area and a picnic area. The water gets warm in the summer and jumping into the lake is a perfect way to cool off. A large lawn along the shoreline is a great place for a picnic, nap or game. There are picnic tables, fire pits and outhouses for your convenience. This is a great place to come for a paddle but there are no motors allowed in this serene environment. There are fish here as well so the fishermen can cast a line and hope for the best. |

| Seeley Lake | Seeley Lake Provincial Park is on Highway 16 just past South Hazelton. There are campsite and a swimming area with picnic tables and outhouses. There is a boat launch but Seeley Lake does not allow motors. You can paddle around and explore the beaver lodges or go fishing. Ask a local about Turtle Island, a small rock island on the otherside of the lake with a diving board. | |||||||
| Anderson Flats | This provincial park is accessed through South Hazelton and located across the river from Ksan. This area is perfect for fishing or a family picnic. | |||||||
| Berry Picking | If you know where to look berries are plentiful. Look out for saskatoon berries, raspberries, wild strawberries, gooseberries and soapberries. | |||||||
Fall |
Fall in Hazelton is a beautiful experience, with crisp cold days and changing leaves. Wildlife is out and about and the bears are getting ready for winter. You can still take part in most of the summer activities but bring a coat. The lake is still a great place to go but swimming is only for the brave of heart. |

| Fishing | Fish are plentiful in the lakes and rivers, this is a great time to go out and enjoy nature. | |||||||
Winter |
Winter in Hazelton can be a bit chilly but there is fun to be had. Bundle up, get your thermos ready and head outside. |

| Outdoor Skating Rink | New Hazelton has a small, lighted outdoor skating rink that is perfect for some exercise or a game of hockey. |

| Ross Lake | If the weather is cold Ross Lake will freeze. There is great icefishing, skating, cross country skiing and snow mobiling. | |||||||
| Tobogganing | Pick a hill and slide down or ask a local for their favorite spot. This is a good old fashioned to have a day of fun. Just don't forget your hot chocolate. | |||||||
| Snow Mobiling | Head up the mountain, along trails or to the lake. Hazelton is a great location for snowmobiling adventures. | |||||||
| Winter Fest | This event takes place in Allan Park. It's a time for the community to come together and enjoy winter. There's a free barbecue, hotchocolate, Christmas Carols and Santa Clause. |

| Cross Country Skiing | When the conditions are right you can ski just about anywhere. There are great groomed ski trails on Bulkley Canyon Road. | |||||||
Spring |
At last the sun has come out again and Hazelton emerges from hibernation. The tree get their leaves back and the flowers bloom. | |||||||
| Spring Fling | Each Spring the Village of Hazelton hosts Spring Fling Celebrations. There are vendors and activities. It's a great way to celebrate the longer days and beautiful blossoms. | |||||||
